What is the average productivity of a transcriptionist?

Most employees who type full time can transcribe 100 minutes of dictation or about 1000 to 1200 lines of transcription in an eight-hour day.

What are the factors used to calculate the total cost of transcription?

Use the following form to determine your costs.  Be sure to enter a value for each field, even if it is a zero.  Round all values to the nearest dollar.  Click the Calculate button to view your results.

Enter your transcription-related costs, as follows:
Labor Labor expense is the hourly wage and any overtime paid to the transcriptionist.
Non-Production Time It is important to factor in the nonproductive time such as sick leave, vacation, holidays, personal time, and replacement costs into the nonproductive time
